JDR 6-Mile Fun Charity Walk/Picnic 2022


We are very excited to be able to announce that during 2022 we plan to host a charity walk on Sunday 4th September, raising funds for ReadLey and MesotheliomaUK. The walk will be centred around Captain Cooks Monument, just above Great Ayton.


How can you get involved and help us raise vital funds for our charity's I hear you ask? By booking your place and joining us for the walk, and raising as much sponsorship as you can! It's as simple as that!


How to reserve your place on the charity walk:


We look forward to another wonderful fundraising event.


  • Open to: All family, friends, suppliers, customers, everyone.
  • Location: Arrival at 10:00am Sunday 4th September 2022 at 'Gribdale Gate, Dikes Lane, Captains Cooks Monument car parking area, TS9 6HN'.
  • 10:30am, walk 3 miles and return to car parking location and break for lunch/picnic at about noon, where we join guests whom are unable to do the full event walking.
  • 13:00pm, continue our walk. Those able to will walk the long way round to Captain cooks monument, circa 3 miles. Those not doing the 3 miles, but able, will take a leisurely walk up the path directly to Captain Cooks Monument.
  • 15:00, all meet at Captain Cooks monument for a group photo and short break.
  • 15:20 to 16:00, walk back to our cars for 16:00.
  • Cost (every penny raised to Mesothelioma UK and ReadLey): £10 per adult person to register, kids join us free. 
  • Sponsorship is not mandatory, but is much appreciated if possible. Click HERE to download a sponsorship form.
  • Food and Drink: Please bring your own food and drink along with you for during the walk and picnic lunch.
